Description:
The Solution Center is a state of the art testing, validation and development lab where PartnerSelect members or Motorola customers work side by side with their Account Teams and Motorola engineers to validate applications and solutions, as well as develop new solutions, all of which reduces deployment time at the customer site.
Lead customers, partners, ISVs, through the Motorola Solution Center (SC) as needed based on the technical needs of the ISV, partner or customer.
The Solution Validation Engineer will direct customers through all phases of solution co-validation. The engineer will provide guidance and input to assist the customer, as well as Motorola associates, during solution development. In addition, the engineer will work with customers and Motorola associates in the diagnosis and resolution of technical challenges.
- Manage all aspects of the SC customer engagement including: Defining and documenting the customer solution, developing and writing the test plan, preparing for and co-validating the solution with the SC customer, writing the solution validation report, and archiving the validated solution.
- Collaborate with SC customers on the development of the application associated with their solution. Collaborate with other engineers to aid in developing acceptable solutions to the SC customer needs.
- Develop test applications to assist in the overall solution validation.
- Review and provide feedback to the Motorola product development teams on the engineering specifications, end user documentation, and application development tools that are provided to partners, ISV's, and customers for application/solution development on Motorola and, if appropriate, 3rd party products.
- Participate in software design reviews and code reviews with SC customers.
- Provide support for SC customer issues.
Requirement:
- Strong communications, administrative and technical writing skills (Microsoft Office Suite). Interpret and analyze validation, application or other test data.
- Experience with systems administration utilizing Windows XP/2000/2003
- Experience with C, C++, C#, VB.NET and Java programming languages.
- Experience with the Win32 API, COM, DCOM, MFC, .NET CLR, .NET Compact Framework.
- Experience with Microsoft development tools such as Embedded Visual C++ 4.0, Visual Studio.NET 2003/2005.
- Experience with WEB development using HTML, JavaScript, VB Script, ASP, ASP.Net, XML, XSLT, Web Services.
- Application development experience on Windows CE, Pocket PC, Windows XP and Windows 2000 platforms.
- Wired and wireless network design/administration and security experience (Motorola/Cisco/other).
BENEFICIAL SKILLS:
- Experience with J2EE, J2SE or J2ME.
- Experience with IBM development tools such as WebSphere or Visual Age
- Database administration/programming with SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, mySQL
- Experience with Ghost, VMWare.
- Utilization of network analysis/test tools (Sniffer, AeroPeak, EtherPeak, Chariot/Spirent)
- Administration of Linux/Unix.
- Familiarity with Motorola Enterprise Mobility Business Product Families (Mobile Computers, Wireless Infrastructure, Scanning, RFID).
